In Japanese cuisine, a bento is a box-shaped lunch box that usually contains rice, fish/meat, and vegetables. The Japanese usually spend a lot of effort in preparing bentos. It’s really common to see bento arranged in such a way that they resemble characters from anime, manga, or video games. There are also bentos which look like people, animals, buildings, etc. – this style of bento is called oekakiben” or “picture bento.” If you want to learn how to make picture bento, give this activity a shot!
