People have been hula hooping since the 1950s (although it’s actually earlier if we’re counting non-modern hooping). Since then, hooping has evolved and has gotten more complex. Some people now even go as far as setting their hula hoop on fire before they hoop, though we wouldn’t recommend this!. Basic hooping is still fun, though, and so many kids from all over the world still do it. If you want to start hooping, watch our activity video.
