Did you know that the Irish people used to predominantly speak in Irish instead of English? And yes, Irish is actually a distinct language from English. Although only a small percentage of the population of Ireland and Northern Ireland still speak Irish in everyday living, it is still very much alive. Its use is encouraged even.
