Compost is natural stuff that’s decomposed and recycled as a fertiliser. Something that’s decomposed has rotted – eugh – and turned into even more basic natural stuff! And fertiliser is similar to soil, and really good for growing plants. It can be really useful for erosion control, meaning stopping soil from just disappearing with water, and as a natural pesticide, stopping insects from destroying the plants. Making compost is easy!
